Welcome back to a new school year! We have a very exciting project coming up very soon!
We were awarded a STAR Grant from Montgomery County Public Schools. We will be building a bass marimba. Retired teacher, Mr. Brent Holl will be coming to Price’s Fork on September 3rd and 4th. The students will be tuning the bars and smoothing the bars out. A detailed schedule of when students will be working with Mr. Holl will be coming home in a few days. Parents are more than welcome to come and participate in the project. (We would love to have you!)
We are in need of a few things for the project that you might have around the house.
1. Hard Rubber Mallets (about 6)
2. Wood Chisels (about 6) Either 1/2in., 3/4in., or 1in.
3. Sanding Blocks (about 15)
Send me an email eyoung@mcps.org or give call to the school 951-5736 if you have any of these items!
I love that you are involving the kids and school community. Let me know what I can do to help!
Wow! What a WONDERFUL opportunity for the children and the parents in the Prices Fork community to see the makings of an instrument and then get to possibly play it and/or hear it played! Eric should be congratulated for his efforts toward this project.
